Moving to new site
Should I declaw my cat? NO.
Hello everyone! A while back, I told you about some products that can be used instead of declawing your cat. At the time, I hadn’t tried any of them, and Sally and I weren’t doing too badly in the clawing department. Or so my mom thought! A couple of months ago, we both decided to start clawing the back of a soft sofa in the den. The whole back of the sofa is exposed because it is a divider between the TV/fireplace half of the den and the computer area. Boy we loved to scratch that thing. So my mom ordered some stuff from StickyPaws.com. She ordered two things - the Sticky Paws strips and the Scratch This! scratching post.
The strips turn out to be thin double-sided adhesive you can put on furniture, around plants, on carpet, wherever you don’t want us to scratch. My mom put three strips across the parts of the top edge of the sofa where we’d been scratching. She put four more across the bottom. Sally and I only had to touch those strips ONE TIME before we decided it wasn’t worth it. She didn’t leave us with nothing to scratch, however. She got us this cool thing called Scratch This! It even comes with a little bag of catnip - real catnip that must be potent, because she sprinkled some on the Scratch This and Sally and I rolled on it, played with it, scratched it, and almost had a fight over it. Mom - next time get two.
Anyway, Sally and I each go and scratch on this thing several times a day now. We haven’t even put any catnip on it lately - but it’s just a great texture to scratch!
The last thing I have to tell you about is something we didn’t order, but I saw it and will ask for it for my birthday. You could get one if your kitty loves to scratch the carpet.
It looks irresistable! If you want any of this stuff, you can get it from Amazon or from www.StickyPaws.com
I haven’t had much time to write lately because I sleep 20 hours a day, after all. But if this post can save one kitty from being declawed, then its worth missing my 5 pm nap today.

Check out Blind Cat Rescue & Sanctuary’s site now and you can see the gifts and dedications that have already been made. This is easy and fun, and it helps the most innocent, helpless animals - blind cats who would otherwise have been destroyed at ordinary shelters. The Blind Cat Sanctuary provides a wonderful loving home for these animals, but it needs our support! My family is sponsoring Miss Molly, the beautiful kitty in the picture.
