Everyone must realize by now that we have untold numbers of dogs and cats who are homeless, and some animals who should be someone’s pets are actually feral because they are not the first generation to grow up with no human contact.   Many people think that if they keep their pet strictly indoors then he/she can’t contribute to the problem.  Or maybe their pet is just so cute that they think the world needs six or eight or 64 (which leads to hundreds then thousands) just like her.   Well those people are not thinking.   Please read this story of a young woman who instead of ignoring the problem, took feral kittens into her home, spending lots of money and lots of time on them, only to find that while she was raising those kittens, the unspayed mama kitty had had some more! And be sure to read part two of the story, which has a surprising twist. You’ll find the pictures adorable and the stories very well told, but I hope the stories will also make you realize that instead of allowing more pets to be born because of our laziness, we all need to provide homes or at least financial support for the animals who are already here and need our help.
